To accomplish the purpose, we compared the effect of different movement amplitudes and directions on the timing and the magnitude of EMG activity in the postural muscle (biceps femoris and soleus) with those in the focal muscle (anterior deltoid). Latencies of preceding EMG activities of ipsilateral biceps femoris were not modified by varying movement amplitudes and directions. However, EMG magnitudes of ipsilateral biceps femoris and durations of silent phase of ipsilateral soleus were modified by varying movement amplitudes and directions.
