| 内容記述 | 広島文教大学 Bunkyo English Communication Center（BECC）の Self-Access Learning Center（SALC）では、2020年度と2021年度に、TOEIC のスコアアップを目指す学生を対象に短期学習支援プログラム、TOEIC Training Program を実施した。 4週間に亘るこのプログラムでは、1時間程度の個別アドバイジングセッションを週に1回行い、TOEICのパートごとの特徴や解き方の方法、学習方法などを指導した。また、毎回のセッションで翌週までの学習計画を一緒に立て、参加者の自律学修を促した。本論では、プログラムの実施内容とその効果検証結果を述べる。プログラムの効果検証には参加者の学習成果の測定とアンケートによる調査の2通りの方法を採用した。学習前後の模擬試験結果を検証したところ、両年とも平均にして学習後の問題正答数に増加が見られた。また、2020年度におけるTOEIC学内試験の結果を参加者と非参加者で比較したところ、前者のスコア伸長が有意に大きいことが分かった。さらには、1年生のTOEICテスト結果をBECC独自の英語運用能力テストの結果に突き合わせて行った、参加者と非参加者のスコア比較検証からも、参加者のスコアに有意な伸長が見られたことから，このプログラムの有用性が示唆された。また、プログラム終了後のアンケート調査においても、多くの参加者にとって、学習量を確保することや、自身の英語力を知ること、スコアアップの方法を学べた点等においてプログラムが役立ったとする結果となり、プログラムの有用性を支持している。最後に、本研究の課題について述べる。 | |||||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | In 2020 and 2021, the Self-Access Learning Center (SALC) of Hiroshima Bunkyo University's Bunkyo English Communication Center (BECC) implemented a short-term learning support program, the TOEIC Training Program, for students aiming to improve their TOEIC scores. Participants met individually with Learning Advisors for one hour of guided learning per week over a four-week period to learn the characteristics of each TOEIC section, how to tackle its questions, and how to best study for it. In addition, in each session, advisors and students made a personalized study plan for the upcoming week to encourage autonomous learning. This paper describes the contents of the program and verifies its effectiveness. Two verification methods were adopted: measuring the learning outcomes of the participants and conducting a questionnaire survey. Participants' post-program mock test scores increased on average over both years of the program. Furthermore, when comparing pre- and post-program on-campus TOEIC exam scores, 2020 program participants' TOEIC scores increased significantly over their non-participant peers. Likewise, in comparing the post-program on-campus TOEIC scores of first year students with the results of the BECC's original English proficiency test, program participants' TOEIC scores were found to be significantly higher than that of non-participants, suggesting the effectiveness of the program. In addition, in the post-program questionnaire, it was found that the program was useful for many participants in terms of securing the amount of learning, knowing their own English proficiency, and learning how to improve their scores.
